Bio.


Nzinga Kadalie Kemp began writing for stage and film in the thriving arts 
community of Atlanta, Georgia where she earned her B.A. from Clark-Atlanta 
University. She later received her M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from New 
York University's prestigious Tisch School of the Arts. Nzinga's work has been 
showcased in venues nationally, including the Tribeca Performing Arts Center 
and the National Black Arts Festival. Her debut film, His/Herstory, has been 
featured in over thirty film festivals internationally including the Toronto Film 
Festival. Epi-Phenomenon, a feature screenplay she wrote, was a first-round 
selection in the Sundance Institute Screenwriting Lab and received Honorable 
Mention in the UrbanWorld Screenwriting Competition. Her short play, The 
Bohemian, was featured in the New York University Tisch Alumni Emerging 
Television Writers Showcase and has also been produced as a web series. The 
Bohemian was honored at the 2012 LA Web Fest for Outstanding Lead Actor 
and Music Composition. Her feature screenplay, In The Meantime, won the 
2012 GMC Television Network Faith and Family Screenplay competition and will 
premiere on the Uplift Network (formerly GMC) in August 2013.  Nzinga 
wrote an episode of "The First Family" airing on BET's Centric. She lives in 
Los Angeles and is a part of a "Steamfunk" Hip Hop band called The Milky Way.
